My first Ear Infection!

Mommy took me to the doctor yesterday for my follow-up. I have my first ear infection now. As a precautionary measure, Dr. Sudha had me get an X-ray to check for pneumonia. My first X-ray too! I was a fussy baby in the waiting room, but I was a champ during the X-ray. I let them position my body where it needed to be and I didn't cry at all. Good news, no pneumonia, so I'm just on amoxicillian for the ear infection.

I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping. Not sure if it's because of the infection and the RSV or because I just want to keep being active. Last night, it took mommy and daddy at least two hours to get me to sleep. I just kept screaming and screaming. Hopefully, tonight will not be the same. I can't wait to get better.

I'm sick

Poor me, I'm siiiiicccckkkk. I've gone from croup two weeks ago to RSV now. Just yesterday I was fighting a 100 degree fever too. I'm wheezing, coughing and my nose is running. I'm not a happy man these days. Mommy and Daddy have been giving me breathing treatments through a nebulizer to help reduce the swelling in my breathing tubes. The first time I screamed when they put it on me. I've been better about it now. I just sit still, look around, and not sure what to do. I see the doctor again today to see if I've gotten better.

The good thing is that Mommy and Daddy have taken turns staying home to take care of me, so I get to spend more time with them. I'll go back to Daycare next week.

Happy Birthday to me!

It's my birthday! Happy birthday to me. Just 7 months ago I came in to this world, 7lbs 3 ounces. 8 hours of trying to get out of mommy. I was difficult on mommy and daddy the first few months. We were all trying to get adjusted to each other. Now, I'm a big, smiling, active 20 lb baby. I sit up, stand up, roll over, and hold myself up on all fours. I can hold my own bottle and eat solids. We are having so much fun now and mommy and daddy are very proud of me.

Let me catch you up

It's been a long time since I updated My Diary, so let me tell you what's going on...

- As of my 6 month well child, I'm 20 pounds and 26 1/2 inches. I'm in the 90+% for my height and weight. I still look like a buddha baby.

- I have four teeth, two up top and two on the bottom and two more growing on the top.

- I don't crawl yet, but I can hold my upper body up. and then I'll surf on my belly. It doesn't make my happy. I hvaen't learn yet that I need to keep my arms and legs on the ground .

- I'm starting to stand. I'll hold on to my toy and then stand on my own. Mommy and Daddy don't need to help me.

- My babysitter Maria had her baby, Alejandro Tomas (Alex). I have a new friend to play with! So, now I'm at Kindercare full time.

- I can hold my bottle and drink from it sometimes. Mommy and Daddy still need to help me.

- I've started eating solids. I've tried rice cereal, oatmeal, peas, green beans, and carrots. My favorites so far are green beans and carrots. I'm not a big fan of the rice cereal. Next food to try will be squash.

- I can roll over left and right. In fact, mommy and daddy often find me in my crib 180 degrees from where I started.

Chompers

As mommy was playing with me this morning, I let her see the top of my mouth and what does she spy? Two more teeth have come through. I now have four teeth up top and two on the bottom. I've been so good about teething that my parents didn't even know.

First Blog Post!

Trying a new format for the Diary. Instead of free form text, we're going to try the world of blogging. It looks much better although it's a different format from the rest of the web site. We're hoping this will be much easier to update all of you on Ian's life and how he's growing. He's growing fast, so we'll have lots to share.

Feel free to add comments to the blogs as you please.
