I'm 18 months today

Today is my 18 month birthday and I have to share two milestones I hit this past weekend. One, for the first time, I pooped in the bathtub. Second, I have started to use and learn the word "No". Any time Mommy and Daddy wanted me to do something I didn't want to do, "no no no no" came out.

I'm still doing pretty good. It's been very cold here in Phoenix the last few days so we haven't had a chance to go to the playground. I can't wait for it to get warmer here. I'm a big boy that needs to play!

18 month well child visit

Can't exactly say it was a well child visit. Yes, Ian is sick again. He had his 18 month well child visit on wednesday. He's been having a cough and runny nose but tuesday night we were suspecting an ear infection. He was very cranky, kept waking up throughout the night and nothing would make him happy. Luckily, the doctor's appointment was the next day. We were right, Ian has an ear infection. Dr. Sudha prescribed Omnicef antibiotic and I immediately got it as soon as we left. He was actually good about taking it. We noticed he was a bit better last night. Today is the second day on antibiotic and we've noticed a big difference. He was so happy today, eating lots of rice, a piece of steak, and cucumbers for dinner tonight. He was also really playful. That's the Ian that we remember. Thank goodness for antibiotics.

Now for Ian's stats:

Height: 32" 70th percentile
Weight: 26lbs 9 ounces 70th percentile (lost a pound)
Head Circumference: 19.5 inches 95th percentile

Overall, Ian is doing well developmentally. He speaks over 20 words, uses a fork and spoon (although not well), scribbles with a crayon, climbs, runs, and points to some body parts. The doctor had no concerns. I asked about him getting sick so much and she said it's expected with daycare. She gave me a hard time for giving him milk at night when he cries at night. Gotta show some tough love and not give him milk. We did it last night, it was hard, but hopefully, this will be a quick habit breaking couple of days. Keep your fingers crossed, Ian stays healthy now.

Ian loves bubble baths

Ian loves his bubble baths. His favorite thing to do is drink the water. It's kinda gross if you think about it, so we try to stop him but he's so cute doing it. We added a short video of him in the bath today doing this. If you're wondering why he got quiet at the end, he noticed his plumbing.

Ian is healthier now. He still has a bad cough, but overall he's doing pretty good. This weekend his favorite things to eat were pizzas and raisons. He's scheduled to get his 18month check on wednesday. Some of you have commented that Ian looks like he lost weight but has gotten taller. I guess we'll find out.

Update on my health

Just wanted to update everyone who knew I've been sick. Mommy and Daddy are hopeful that I'm getting better. I threw up again today and a few times yesterday but it wasn't the nonstop vomitting that I had on friday. I've been able to keep more food down, but I'm very cranky and still don't have my full appetite. My diapers are still pretty liquidy and stinky but I have been getting better though. We took our first car ride since friday and I didn't throw up. I'm also having a lot more happy than upset times. We're still not sure if I'll go to school tomorrow or not. Hopefully, I do well tonight and I can go back and see my friends tomorrow.

Merry Belated Christmas to Me!

I love bubble baths especially eating the bubbles.

Since we were all sick before Christmas, Mommy and Daddy didn't get to buy me too many presents for Christmas. Today, they made up for it. I got a car today that I can ride around outside. It's got a hood on it, but I liked it better as a convertible. I had so much fun with it. As soon as the door came on, I was going in and out of the door. Watch out everyone, Ian's about to hit the road.
