Ian at 22 months and counting
Alright, it's been awhile since we updated Ian's web site. I'll try to remember everything to update you since the last post. Here's a picture of Ian's 22 month b-day present. Every time we're at a store or out and he sees a bike, he gets all excited and wants to hop on the bike, so we finally bought him one. It also helped that it was on sale at Target. In case you're wondering what that long handle is in the back, it's a Parent Steer. Mommy can't bend over like she used to, so this was a must. Ian likes riding it inside the house for now, he doesn't let us take it outside the house.
It's been over 100 degrees now in Phoenix, so we've been spending a lot more time in the backyard and pool area. You'll start to see more of our pictures spent outside at the pool now. Ian likes to sit on the side of the pool and kick. We play "Go" and "Freeze" when kicking. He likes to watch and do what daddy does, so he also likes to take the pool cleaner/skimmer and put it in the pool and then take it out. Although it is 100+ degrees, we're still trying to take Ian to the zoo once a month. We went the other day at 8:30 in the morning and then left by 11am when it just hit 100 degrees. Got a few pictures from his second time on the Merry Go Round.
Ian's favorites lately:
* Words - "mine" and "Eeeeyyaaans". It's how he claims something or states that he wants it.
* To do - Jump and jump and jump and then land on his butt. He's getting pretty good air now in his jumps.
* Favorite thing to watch - Still absolutely loves Elmo and asks for it all the time
* Song - Wheels on the Bus. His favorite part of the song used to be the wheels go round and round. Now, it's the people on the bus go up and down.
* Outside toy - The water hose. He can play with it for hours. It's a fight to get him to stop. He pronounces water "waa waa"
* Word to say to people - He may not talk much to you, but he'll always say "BYE BYE" really loud to you.
* Food - Bananas and mac n cheese
* Thing to do in a restaurant - Eat ketchup especially sticking his fingers in there.
Other Ian facts:
* He's getting much better at kicking the ball now
* He's enjoying his time in SoccerTots and recognizes where he's going as soon as we drive in to the parking lot. He's starting to participate more in the activities instead of running around doing his own thing. He also doesn't try to escape anymore. On the first visit, he was scared to get his hands stamped, now he'll sit there right in front of the teacher asking please to get his hands stamped.
* We reenrolled him in SoccerTots for next session but also enrolled him in swimming lessons
* He likes to clean using the Swifter and vacuum with his toy vacuum
* Likes to run a lot.
* He recognizes himself in pictures and also says "mommy" and "daddy" correctly now.
* We put him in a Music and Me class. It's part of the Kindermusik program. The teachers say he really enjoys and participates in it and is the best toddler in the class.
* We went to the doctor 2 weeks ago. Ian weighed in at 33 pounds 3 ounces with his shoes on. Big growing boy. He's still the tallest kid in his class.
* This weekend while we were outside, Ian saw a few bugs on the floor. He got pretty excited and was yelling "bug" "bug" and following it around. Just like daddy.
* Ian will say "sister" or "baby". He even says "baby" when he sees one now and he also says "cry" when he hears crying.
* Knows all of his body parts.... eyes, nose, ears, tongue, mouth, hands, fingers, toes, knees, feet, shoulders, pee pee, and butt.
* Makes animal sounds for bears, lions, tigers, sheep, horse, dog, cat, duck, and monkey, and makes a fish face when you say fish. He makes the monkey arm movements too.
* He'll stick a finger at us and scold us "No"
* Ian will say a lot of words now that I can't keep track of what's new anymore.
* Thanks to Daddy, Ian said "oh sh*t" yesterday.
