Hannah at 9 months

Wow, 9 months, can you believe it???? Hannah's no little girl anymore. She started crawling a few weeks ago and just yesterday she has started to stand while holding on to objects. In no time, she will be walking. Watch out world, here comes Hannah!

Her 9 months stats:
Height: 28 1/4 inches (75th percentile)
Weight: 22 lbs, 13 ounces (95th percentile)
Head circumference: 18 inches (90th percentile)

Much like Ian, Hannah has grown teeth pretty quickly. She currently has 8 teeth, 4 on top and 4 on the bottom. She loves eating. Cheerios, fruit loops, bananas, Gerber puffs, teething biscuits, Gerber cookies, anything edible for her, she'll try to eat except the baby food. She's not a very big fan of the smooth stuff.

Hannah is making a lot of sounds and definitely voices herself when she wants to be picked up or fed. I think she says "daddy" but not sure if she knows what that means yet. She does mimic us sometimes such as kissing and tongue smacks. Both very cute. When she's sitting in her high chair, she has learned that when there's no food on the tray, she moves her left arm up and down on to the tray to tell us she wants food. She has us trained so well.

She's mommy's girl. She's very attached to mommy and always wants mommy to hold her. She's getting very upset when I leave her at daycare and at home. Then, as soon as she hears or sees me in a room, she comes to me. It's true, Andrew's got Ian and I have Hannah.

Andrew and many others say Hannah looks like me. For some reason, I just can't see it, but I do catch some of her expressions looking just like me. It's funny.

Ian continues to adore his sister and plays with her often. He still doesn't like her touching his toys when he is holding them or her touching him, but he loves to make her laugh.

Pictures from March were uploaded to Shutterfly and available for viewing. We'll post April pictures soon.

Ian at 2 years, 9 months

Ian continues to be the tallest kid in the class. Everyone is still questioning how Andrew and I could make such a tall kid. We have no idea.

Ian continues to be the cutest boy in the world. He has his good and bad moments. He's picking up some bad habits from day care like whining and fake crying when he doesn't get what he wants. He has also learned to pout and move his arm like he's hitting you, but not really hitting you. Ian is telling daddy and I that we have yucky kisses and he doesn't want "lots and lots" of kisses...."just two". While it's hard not to kiss him a bunch, we find it pretty cute. He will have his occasionally sweet moments and tell us he's happy or tell us 'good night' or 'I love you'. Ian enjoys driving his truck around the neighborhood and riding his bicycle. He especially loves riding his bike on the little hills in the greenbelt we have here. He's such a boy.

He has moved on to Go Diego Go! now and less of Backyardians. The Diego cartoon is much more interactive and teaches the kids animals and Spanish. He enjoys the animal part and is just starting to pick up a few of the Spanish words. Ian wants to watch Diego from the time he gets home to the time he goes to bed. Daddy is sick of it. He tries to encourage Ian to watch Backyardians or Wow Wow Wubzy (he was in to that show for awhile), but Ian says no.

Ian still attends Rollie Pollie every saturday and he loves it. His best buddy from daycare Liam attends it with him now. Ian is usually a shy kid, but when you put those two together, cover your ears. They get so excited to see each other, it's so cute. They act and talk the same. The teachers say they don't get along sometimes, but I think they just act like brothers. They love each other one minute and the next minute they want their space. Besides Rollie Pollie, we'll probably look in to putting Ian in swim classes this summer. He's also going to start at our friend Niki's preschool PB&J, in June. He'll only be attending one day a week in the beginning, but as she gets space, we'll hopefully get her there for another day or two. We can't wait till he joins, we know he'll have so much fun. He'll also continue to go to daycare when he's not at preschool.

Nope, Ian's not potty trained yet. It's probably because Andrew and I haven't pushed it consistently with him yet. Yes, I'm looking forward to the days where I don't have to buy diapers anymore but I'm not looking forward to the days where I have to take Ian to a public gross bathroom. He goes pee in the potty at school and at home when he wants to, but will still pee in the diaper if he can. Andrew and I will start someday with him soon, we just don't know when.

Ian's got a full head of hair right now. I think we're probably going to get it cut short again for the summer. I'm sure he's going to love getting his hair cut...yeah right.

As for foods, Ian is very picky (hmm...sound like anyone we know???) . He likes noodles a lot, Japanese fish cake (this is something new), chocolate, donuts, candy, chocolate pudding, corn, green beans, chicken, peas, fish sticks, apples, pears, and cocoa puffs. He's not so much in to hot dogs, cucumbers, or carrots anymore. He still loves his milk and not in to juices.

Ian's next doctor's visit is when he's 3, so we'll see how he's growing then but he's about 36 inches and 34 lbs I believe.

The Marler Family at Disneyland

To celebrate Mommy's birthday, we went on a belated trip to Disneyland. We had such a wonderful time we stayed an extra night so we can spend a relaxing day at Disneyland. The only bad part of the trip was that it was crowded with Spring Breakers. Lines were pretty long. Luckily we were there for about 6 days so we went on several of our favorite rides a couple of times. Nonna, Cliff, and Kristi joined us for most of the trip. It was nice to have other people to help watch the kids.

Ian surprised us and rode the Chip n Dale roller coaster ride. He loved it and went over and over again. He also loved the Dumbo ride, the Autopia (driving the cars), the Rocket Ship, Pirate's Island (Tom Sawyer Island), Little Casey Junior Train, the big Train, Main Street Cable Car Rides, and Buzz Lightyear. Things he tried once and didn't want to do again, Star Tours, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the fireworks show. He went on the tea cups and said he enjoyed it. It's a really good thing he doesn't get Mommy's motion sickness. Unfortunately, Small World and the Carousol were closed due to remodeling so we couldn't ride those things 10 million times. We also went over to California Adventures. He hung out at the Bug's Land with Nonna and Kristi, and enjoyed all of the rides there. He got really excited to ride the Carousol at California Adventures. I think Kristi had to ride that with him 3 times. One thing we found at California Adventures was Little Bear Play Area. It's a big play area for kids where they get to walk across rope bridges, up and down stairs, slides, etc. He had fun just running around.

I had really wanted to get the kids mickey ears, but to my dismay the kids were not on the same page. Ian really wanted a pirate's hat because there's a Backyardigan's pirate episode. As soon as he got it, he said "a pirate a pirate a pirate says Aaarrrggg" and moves his arm like a pirate. He did that a lot that week. I tried to get Hannah a hat, but she wanted nothing to do with hats. Any hate I'd put on her, she'd rip it off.

We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel so that we didn't have to drive. It was definitely worth the extra cost for us and the hotel was nice. We went to the swimming pool a few times. We found a kiddy pool that was 2 feet for about half of the pool. Ian was feeling pretty good when he realized he could walk around the pool. He kept saying "I a big boy I a big boy". Hannah loved being in the water as well. Ian also enjoyed going up and down in the "upalator". It's so cute when he says it, we couldn't correct him.

There's about 173 pictures posted on Shutterfly from our trip. That's not even all of the shots we took. The great thing about digital cameras, we just kept shooting away. As you can see the kids had a great time, but they also crashed pretty hard from all the fun.

All in all, I think Ian was a bit overwhelmed, but really did enjoy his time at Disneyland. Hannah enjoyed being picked up by everyone but I think she would have more fun in a few months when she can walk. Andrew and I definitely had fun just having family time and watching the excitement in our kids. We didn't get to ride the rides as much as we all wanted due to the crowds, but we'd definitely go back again. Mommy just has to figure out when there's going to be no crowds.
