Roll out the red carpet

Starring Ian and Hannah Marler in "We got a web cam!"

Well, we've actually had it for awhile but Mommy finally installed it this past weekend. It's not the best quality picture but it's better than nothing. So, if you'd like to see the kids on the web cam, send us an email or give us a call before 8:00pm Pacific Time and we'll try to get online or schedule a time to meet.

And the doctor says...

Hannah has an ear infection in her right ear. Since she's been sick for so long now (pink eye two weeks ago) and the fever all weekend, they gave her a antibiotic shot. It took two nurses and a daddy to hold her down for it. She's a strong little girl. Mommy has to take her back tomorrow for a follow-up. Poor thing.

In Daddy news, Daddy went to the doctor too and he still has an ear infection. He received another antibiotic prescription.

Labor Day Weekend

We have a Marler family tradition whether we like it or not. At least one of our children gets sick on a holiday. Hannah has had a fever since friday. She's been in pretty good spirits but her temperature has been around 101 to 102. Daddy will take her to the doctor on tuesday. Daddy is still trying to get over his double ear infection. He can't hear very well and we're having to yell at him for him to hear us. Then, Mommy's immune system decided to join in on the fun and she was not feeling well on sunday either. So, no barbeques or pool time like we had hoped.

Daddy doesn't like celebrating his birthday, but I wanted the kids to feel the excitement of birthdays so we bought a cake at the store and sang 'Happy Birthday' to Daddy. I tried to make the event special for Ian and let him help me pick out the cake and the candles at the store. Then, he got to place all of the candles on the cake. We bought candles to spell out 'Happy Birthday' but it didn't look like that when Ian placed them. He also only wanted to place ALL of the candles in one corner of the cake. So, I tried to get some pictures of Ian's masterpiece. We still had fun with the cake though and Hannah had the cake experience that she missed on her birthday as you can tell from the pictures. I gave Ian free reign on the sprinkles and he decided he wanted all of them on his cake. I was late getting a picture of it, but to our surprise, he picked up his whole piece and tried to eat the cake from the top. He had sprinkles all over his mouth. Both kids were very cute and then headed straight to the bath tub.

Added more pictures

I added more pictures to the August album. Cliff also sent us the pictures he took from the kids birthday party so I added them to that album.

This is why we pay so much for Ian's schooling

In case any of you wonder why Mommy has enrolled Ian in so much stuff during the time he's at school, it's because of this. When he's home, he can just lay around and watch tv and mommy doesn't feel guilty.

And the verdict is....

Forgot to mention in past posts, we took Hannah to see an allergy specialist. At the first visit, Mommy discussed what happened with the doctor and she suspected it wasn't strawberries but eggs because that's common at Hannah's age. We unfortunately couldn't test her that day because we gave her Benadryl two days before and apparently it stays in the system for five days and has a negative effect on the allergy tests. Which ended up being a good thing, because Mommy couldn't handle watching Hannah get the test done by herself. So, she made Daddy join us the week after. After the grueling test (Hannah hates doctors, nurses, and being in the exam room), Hannah tested positive for strawberries, dustmites, and mold. She gets all of daddies hayfever stuff, cats, dogs...animal dander, and down. Poor thing.
