Back from San Francisco

We are back from another marvelous trip to the Bay Area. We saw a few friends this time and spent most of our time in San Francisco with family. On thursday, we went to Uncle Bob's house in Davis for the yearly Thanksgiving dinner. We started a tradition of announcing the coming of our offspring at Thanksgiving dinner. No, I didn't have an announcment this year. To our wonderful surprise, cousin Beth and Casey are expecting alittle one June 13. Now, Popo can stop asking them.

Mommy and mostly Daddy had to work while we were in the city, so we didn't get to run around the town much. Ian got to ride the cable car a few times and go to the playground twice. He mostly spent time at Nonna's house playing with Uncle Clifford, Auntie Kristi, cousin Brandon, Leanne, Eric and Kara (the Tickle Monsters).

Hannah was very clingy in the beginning but soon opened up to everyone. She took to Eric early on. (Brandon has Ian and Eric has Hannah, Leanne has dibs on the next) In fact, on Thanksgiving, she instantly ran to Eric when he came over. I think Kara has some competition. Hannah was really good Thanksgiving night. I don't know if it's because it was a new place or because she had so much attention, but Hannah was happily running around Uncle Bob's place like she owns it. Uncle Richard's family brought their dog Cooper, who's very non-aggressive. Ian was still afraid of him, but Hannah got over her fear. She kept chasing him so she can touch him but Cooper was more afraid of Hannah than she was of him. Hopefully, this means I can have one child not afraid of dogs.

It was a great trip as usual. We hated to go but we are happy to be home if even for a few days. On tuesday, we're off to Disneyworld. Woohoo!

Halloween 2008

For Halloween this year, Ian chose to be a pirate. He was pretty excited to be a pirate so we thought he would have no issue with the costume. The weekend before Halloween we asked him to put it on, and we got a big "nooooooooooo I don't want to wear it". Oh oh, we were worried. We spent $$$ on the costume and it was going to go to waste and Mommy couldn't return it. Ahhhhhh.... Much to our pleasure on Halloween day, Ian was very happy to wear his Halloween costume. He wore it all day to Carebear Preschool, through dinner, and to Trick or Treating. Everyone thought he was a great pirate and he was so proud of who he was that day. Argh!

Look familiar????

It was such a cute costume on Ian that I had to put it on Hannah this year. This is probably the only time that the kids will be sharing costumes. If you saw from the pictures posted on Shutterfly, Miss Hannah was not happy about wearing her costume. We put it on her in the morning and she tried to rip it off of her. I brought her to daycare and put it on right before class. I was expecting it to be off when I picked her up, but I guess she got used to it and was wearing it at the end of the day. I brought her home and she stayed in it through the night as we passed out candy. If you can't tell, I had a really hard time getting her to stop for pictures so they didn't come out well. I had an even harder time trying to get both of them to pose for a picture. Just take it from me, she was a cutie as yoda.

Hannah at 15 months

Hannah had her 15 months appointment on wednesday, the 22nd. The doctor said she's growing well. Her chest sounded great, her ears looked good, and she's certainly not starving. Mommy can't hold her for very long. She's a chunk! Here's her stats:

Weight: 27.4 lbs (95%)
Height: 32 inches (90%)
Head Circumference: 18 3/4 (90%)
Words: Weeee, ewwww, Yes, No, Muh (Milk), cheezzze, mommy, daddy, eeyahh (Ian), oh no, all done, bay-bee (baby), E-I-E-I-Ooooo, bye bye

Poor Hannah, Mommy has second child syndrome. I wish I can update on her progress as much as I did with Ian's but I have writer's block. I'll try to write what I can think of about Hannah.

Hannah's been shy and going through a big stranger danger phase. She likes to cling to mommy and daddy and won't go to our friends and family. Daycare drop-off has still been difficult, but getting easier. She no longer cries when we leave, but she still clings to us when we get there so that we won't leave without her. I assume like Ian she'll get over it as she gets older.

Miss Hannah the Independent! She refuses to sit and prefers to be mobile. She eats dinner walking around. We try and try and try to get her to sit in her high chair or a boaster seat, but she absolutely refuses. School says she can be agressive. If another child tries to take her toy or bite her, she'll shove back. Today, I saw another child try to take the seat in front of her (the one I was trying to get her to sit in) and Hannah got mad and tried to pull it back. I've also seen another child try to eat off Hannah's plate and Hannah gave that child a dirty look and screamed at that child. I guess she learns from having to fight with Ian.

Miss Smarty. What can I say we don't have dumb kids. She still knows when we're going to leave and gets mad if we don't take her. She'll bring us her shoes and wants us to hold her.

Hannah loves music. She's in a weekly music class at daycare, same one that Ian has been attending. Ms. Rebecca that teacher says she loves it. When Hannah hears music, she likes to sway side to side. She loves the Backyardigans music and gets a big smile on her face when she hears their Theme song. She also recognizes "If you're happy and you know it", "E-I-E-I-O", and the "Itsy, Bitsy Spider". Then, when songs are done, she'll clap her hands and say Yayyy!

If you've ever been to our house you'll know that Mommy loves to spoil her kids. I went through a period of buying Ian a new toy every week his first year. Well, as you can imagine we have a ton of toys so I really haven't had to buy anything for Hannah. It finally dawned on me a few weeks ago, that she's at the age where I should probably introduce her to girlie things. I bought Hannah her first stroller and baby doll. She loved it. She pushes her baby around and likes to play with her bay-bee. I can't wait to buy her barbie dolls and dress up dolls.
